Why We Originally Recommended Top 10 and AccessPress Social Share Plugins
When we first released Madara, we recommended using the Top 10 and AccessPress Social Share plugin to help users track post views and enable easy social sharing. However, over time, we received feedback from users about performance issues, and after conducting tests, we found that these plugins consume high CPU resources and are not well-optimized.
Why Do These Plugins Impact Performance?
1. Top 10 Plugin
- This plugin tracks daily views for each manga and chapter.
- On large sites with many chapters, the database grows significantly, leading to longer query times and slower performance.
2. AccessPress Social Share Plugin
- Loads third-party libraries (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest…), which can be slow in certain countries.
- Stores large data values in the
WP_Options
table, slowing down core database queries.
Should You Disable These Plugins?
- Yes, if you experience slow site loading.
- Try disabling both plugins and compare your site’s performance.
- In many cases, removing these plugins improves loading speed significantly.
Madara 1.5+ Update
From Madara version 1.5+, we have removed the recommendation to use Top 10 and AccessPress Social Share plugin. If you need alternatives, consider:
✅ Jetpack Site Stats (for tracking views)
✅ AddToAny Share Buttons (for social sharing)
If you’re still using these plugins and noticing slow performance, consider making a change today! 🚀
