For a long time, the sidebar in Madara is always 1/3 width to make it simple for site master, no further configuration needed
However, experience site owner wants to change this. In the latest version of Madara 2.2.7.1, we add an option in the Customizer to let admin control this size (Appearance > Customize > General Layout > Sidebar Size). You can change it to either 1/3 or 1/4 or 1/6 of screen-width. This lets your site layout more flexible.
It is especially useful in combination with the Container/Full-screen width layout of different page
